Sunbury. Tesco is the day out.
Nice riverside, slow trains, and a big Tesco locals treat like a tourist attraction.
Sunbury-on-Thames has a nice riverside, a walled garden and swan upping on the river. It's on-Thames, not upon, and they'll correct you. Away from the water it's bookies and a big Tesco that's rammed every weekend, because there's nowhere else to shop.
There's 1 public toilet mapped, so the Tesco's handy for that too. The nitrogen dioxide's 1.8 times the typical town's, and there are buses everywhere, nearly eight times the typical town's on a Sunday. All of them going somewhere that isn't Sunbury.
