Saltend's on the breeze again.
Hedon is very keen not to be Hull. The smell from Saltend doesn't care.
Hedon used to be a port until the harbour silted up, and its mayor still throws pennies at people every year. It's quiet, crime's low and it's desperate not to be swallowed by Hull. The only real problem is the stink that blows over from Saltend, which locals have been moaning about for years.
On paper it's insufferable. Hardly any anti-social behaviour, every house on superfast broadband, and the storm overflows nearby spilled for 0.1 hours per 10,000 people a year. So the smell's definitely Saltend. Somebody's setting fire to things at three and a half times the typical town's rate, mind, so not everyone's on message. Lloyds has gone. The pennies keep coming.
