Miles from Hull. Honest.

Beverlonians tell people they live near York. They live near Hull. Everyone knows.

Beverley's all right and doesn't half go on about it. Minster, racecourse, cows wandering about the Westwood. Ask anyone from Bev where they live and they'll say near York, because they'd rather eat glass than say Hull. It's Hull, mate. You can practically see it.

It's insufferable on paper as well. The council recycles 61% of everything, hardly anyone fly-tips, and nearly every house can get gigabit broadband, so the Beverlonians can tell the whole internet they live near York. There's 29 pubs, and the Flemingate roadworks to moan about in every one of them.
