Asparagus, and a queue on Abbey Bridge.
They grow loads of asparagus and never shut up about it. The rest of the time they're in a queue.
Evesham's asparagus country. Locals call it sparrow-gras and will talk about it until you beg them to stop. When they're not, they're stuck at Abbey Bridge, because getting from the town centre to the bypass takes forever.
The banks didn't fancy the queue either. They've announced 5 branch closures since 2022, more than five times the typical town's rate. The last bus pulls out at 8.11pm, the anti-social lot are busier than in the typical town, and low hygiene ratings are twice as common, so stick to the asparagus. River's nice.
