Even the buildings want a lie down.
The brine baths are lovely. The town round them has empty shops and buildings falling over.
Droitwich sits on brine as salty as the Dead Sea, and they built a lido so you can float in it. The High Street buildings lean because the ground sank after they pumped all the salt out. Empty shops, not much choice, and the redevelopment takes forever.
Otherwise it's tidy and smug about it. No sewage spills at all, not one dodgy kitchen, and parks all over the place, with hardly anything on them for the kids. HSBC, Lloyds and Santander all announced they were off, and it still has nearly three times the typical town's banks per head. The Sunday buses barely bother. Dead quiet.
