No proper pub. Think about that.

An old pit village with a brass band, a bus that rarely shows and no proper pub.

Thurcroft's an old pit village where the miners tried to buy the pit to save it. It shut anyway. Now the buses barely run, so you need a car, and Bluebell Lane's jammed at rush hour. There's no proper pub. No pub. At least there's a Greggs.

There's no public park on the map either, so nearly two thirds of the village is more than 400 metres from anywhere to play. The local firebugs set the grass alight at over six and a half times the typical town's rate, and the vandalism's nearly twice the typical town's. The brass band's still going. Somebody's got to keep the place cheerful.
