Have a pie.
Pork pies, Stilton, and lorries shaking the houses on Burton Road.
Melton Mowbray has pork pies, Stilton and a livestock market, and that's the tour. The bypass was built with a bit missing, so the lorries still come down Burton Road rattling everyone's windows. The town gave the language painting the town red, after a bunch of drunk toffs went round daubing it in the 1830s. Nobody's had that much fun there since.
For a town that lives off food, the kitchens could be cleaner. The takeaways scoring 0 to 2 on hygiene run at 1.7 times the typical town's share. Barclays, NatWest and Santander have each announced a closure, and on a weeknight the last bus pulls out at 8.32pm. It's fine. Like the pie.
