Trafford council recorded 9.2 fly-tipping incidents per 1,000 people a year from 2022-23 to 2024-25, 16% lower than the typical English council's 11.0. In 2024-25 it recorded 2,334, with the highway the most common spot. Of those, 22 were tipper-lorry loads or bigger, which cost £2,530 to clear. Partington's fly-tippers would sooner dump it on the verge than pay the toll bridge to get to the tip.
