By the sea? It's near Chesterfield.
Wingerworth once called itself Derbyshire by the Sea. It's near Chesterfield.
Wingerworth once billed itself as Derbyshire by the Sea, because Smithy Pond had a lido. It's near Chesterfield. The lido's long gone, there's no public pool, the hall got knocked down and the coke ovens on The Avenue used to cover the place in muck. These days it's a quiet village where nobody nicks anything and nobody sets fire to the bins.
It does have one thing a seaside town would recognise. The storm overflows round here spill for 8.7 times as long as the typical town's. All the sewage of the seaside, and still no sea.
