Every visitor does the same joke
The League of Gentlemen filmed here. Locals have heard every joke about it, every day.
Hadfield was Royston Vasey on the telly, so every visitor does the local shop joke and the locals want to lamp them. The library's shut, the pool shut in 2016 with nothing coming to replace it, and Glossop has the pubs and things to do. Hadfield has a reservoir. Cracking reservoir.
It's wet on 167 days a year and the sun hardly shows, which you'd think was enough water for one valley. The storm overflows don't agree: they spill at more than 14 times the typical town's rate. The local yobs set fire to the bins nearly twice as often as in the typical town. The buses are decent, at least, so in theory you can leave. Anyone who's seen the show knows how that goes.
