Smells a bit.
Wigton makes cellophane. Locals call it Stinky Wigton, and the sewage doesn't help.
Wigton makes cellophane, and for decades the factory gave the town the Wigton Whiff. Some locals swear it's gone. Some are still holding their noses. The air figures say Wigton breathes some of the cleanest air going, and Stinky Wigton isn't having it. Sewage spills run at more than four times the typical town's, so maybe the whiff was never the factory.
The Georgian centre round the fountain looks respectable until you count the charity shops. Five of them in a town this size, and one Greggs to feed the volunteers. There's no public park at all, and nearly half the town lives more than 400 metres from anywhere to play. There's rain on 158 days a year, which at least keeps the smell down. The boy racers do laps of the town at night instead.
