Use us as a bypass. Everyone does.
Polesworth and Dordon have a golden leaf on the old spoil heap and lorries through the middle.
Polesworth and Dordon dug coal, and when the pits went somebody stuck a golden leaf sculpture on top of the old spoil heap. There's a poetry trail as well. Meanwhile the lorries use the Square as a bypass, the trains barely bother stopping and Tamworth gets a bit closer with every new estate.
The Anker gets the overflow, with storm overflow spill hours at 3.7 times the typical town's. On the map there isn't a single public park, and most people live more than 400 metres from anywhere to play, so it's the spoil heap or nothing. There's a poem about it, probably.
