Rougher than it looks

A stone town by the fell, with too much aggro and far too much rain.

Longridge quarried the stone for big buildings all over Lancashire and sent it down to Preston on its own railway. Now it's covering its fields in estates, and the road to Preston queues every rush hour instead.

It rains on 169 days a year, over 1,200 mm of it, and the sun puts in 1,373 hours. For somewhere this pretty it's got a lot of aggro, with anti-social behaviour at one and a half times the typical town's rate, and the high street has more charity shops and vape shops per head than most towns. Plenty of pubs, mind, and a fell to walk it off.
