Bulkington. Not Bedworth. Yet.

A village fighting off new houses and the slow creep of Bedworth. It's losing.

Bulkington used to weave ribbons, and now spends all day making sure it doesn't turn into Bedworth. The developers reckon otherwise. The green belt keeps getting houses stuck on it, the roads get busier and crossing the street takes nerve.

For a village this precious about its fields, there's hardly any public park: 0.4 square metres a head. The overflows nearby run for nearly four times as long as the typical town's, so it's not as fresh as it thinks it is.
