Catterick. Where's the high street?
Big army town. Forgot to build a town centre. The retail park does the job.
Catterick Garrison is barracks, new houses and retail parks. No high street. Just chain stores. The road through Colburn's gridlocked, the buses sit in the same queue, and they keep building more houses on top.
Crime's low, which is no shock with this many soldiers about. It's got nearly seven times the typical town's play spaces per head, so somebody planned for the kids, just not for a town. The storm drains nearby chuck out sewage for nearly nine times as long as the typical town's, and a fifth of the place can't get gigabit broadband. Some homes can't even get the legal minimum.
