Wales's highest town. The cinema's lovely, and everything outside it is a mess.

Brynmawr reckons it's the highest town in Wales and it's bloody freezing, so fair enough. It pisses down on 168 days a year too, in case freezing wasn't enough. It's got the longest running cinema in Wales, which makes sense, because sitting in the dark beats what's going on outside.

Outside, criminal damage sits at nearly three times the typical town's rate and it's going up. There are 11 pubs, Greggs at over six times the typical town's per head and no park on the map, so that's the evening sorted. The last bus down the hill goes at 10.20pm. Nobody's spent a penny on the place since the factories shut.
