More houses. Still a village.
They keep building houses. Nobody's told the drains or the doctors.
Broughton Astley used to make socks and bricks. Now it makes houses, loads of the bloody things, and still calls itself a village. The station went years ago, so everyone drives through the middle, and Cottage Lane has become somebody else's shortcut. Nothing goes wrong here. Crime's under half the typical town's. It's just rammed.
The locals worry the drains won't cope with all the new houses. The storm overflows within a kilometre already spill at 2.7 times the typical town's rate, so the drains have answered that one. Plenty of parks, to be fair. No pool.
