Norton Canes. Like the services.
Famous for a motorway service station. The village is round the back.
To the rest of the country Norton Canes is a service station on the M6 Toll, somewhere you stop for a wee and a sandwich you regret. There is a village round the back, and it's annoyingly decent. Low crime, hardly any fly-tipping, safe roads, more park per head than anyone knows what to do with and Chasewater up the road.
So somebody sets fire to the wheelie bins. The deliberate fires come in at 2.3 times the typical town's rate, mostly bins and rubbish. In a village this tidy, that passes for a night out. Try getting a bus anywhere on a Sunday and you'll see why.
