Lorries gone. So's everyone else.
They waited years for a bypass. Now it's here, they're worried nobody will stop.
Long Stratton spent years with lorries rattling down The Street, which is what they called the main street because they couldn't think of anything else. Now the bypass is open, the village is quiet, and the worry is that nobody will stop at the vape shop and charity shops any more. Fair worry.
There's 1 vape shop, which per head is 6.3 times the typical town, and 7 hairdressers. Crime's about half the typical town, the pool shut in 2019 and everyone lives next to a park. There's nothing to do but have a haircut and a vape and listen to the bypass.
