Rosyth. The subs are still here.
A garden city for the dockyard, with old nuclear submarines tied up at the bottom of it for decades.
Rosyth was built as a garden city for the naval dockyard, and the dockyard is still the point of it. They put the aircraft carriers together here, and they've kept a row of old nuclear submarines tied up in the basin for decades while everybody argues about how to take them apart. Lovely for the house prices.
There used to be a ferry to Belgium. It went, came back, went again, and people still talk about it like it's due. Meanwhile there's no leisure centre, one public toilet and hardly any pubs, about a third of what a town this size usually has. There's a Greggs. That's about the size of it.
Dunfermline got made a city. Rosyth's the bit you drive through to get to the bridge.
