Raunds. The boot bit's over.
The bootmakers marched to London. Raunds is still talking about it.
Raunds made army boots, and in 1905 its bootmakers marched all the way to London over their pay. It's still the most exciting thing that's happened. There's a football club and a music festival, and they're planning more houses off London Road, which will give everyone something new to moan about.
These days the high street runs on vapes, 6.7 times the typical town's vape shops per head, and the anti-social lot are well above the typical town too. The storm overflows spill at 2.3 times the typical town's rate, and St Peter's church has ended up on the at-risk register. The buses stop at 9.14pm, so nobody's marching anywhere now.
