Radcliffe. Temporary lights again.
A nice walk along the cliff above the Trent. Stay above it. The sewage is below.
Radcliffe on Trent has a lovely walk along the cliff over the river, woods and lily ponds, and Radfest once a year. It knows it's nice. Look down off the cliff, though, and the sewers overflow for five times as long as the typical town's. Cracking view of it from up there.
Back in the village there are hairdressers everywhere, 3.4 times the typical town's per head, and nowhere to swim since the pool shut in 2014. There's always a temporary traffic light somewhere, the council's B roads are knackered and somebody always barges in at the merge. Rushcliffe charges £2,643 on a Band D home for all this. That's a lot of money for a haircut and a queue.
