Marple goes to the pub.
The trains are a gamble, so Marple stays in the pub.
Marple's dead proud of its locks, the big stone aqueduct and the railway viaduct next to it. Lovely, the lot. Legend has it a famous crime writer named her old lady detective after the station, and Marple has never once let that drop. The Rose Hill trains turn up when they feel like it.
What the overflows send into the canal and the Goyt isn't lovely at all. The sewers overflow for more than ten times as long as the typical town's. The hygiene inspectors hand out 0 to 2 nearly three times as often as in the typical town, and the pool's shut. It's wet on 163 days a year.
