Treorchy. Tre-awful, to its mates.
An award-winning high street, a famous choir and a cash machine that's always empty.
Treorchy won an award for the best high street in Britain and will not shut up about it. There's a famous choir and a theatre the miners paid for. The banks have gone, the cash machine keeps running dry and lads tear about on off-road bikes.
There's rain on 187 days a year, over three times the typical town's rainfall, so the award-winning high street's mostly seen from under a brolly. The sewers overflow for over 17 times as long as the typical town's. Locals call it Tre-awful anyway.
