agree it's crap have defended it
Leominster. It's said Lemster.
Spelt one way, said another. The best attraction, locals say, is the road out.
Leominster is pronounced Lemster and every visitor gets it wrong. Lemners have timber-framed buildings, antique shops, charity shops, plenty of pubs and a remarkable number of public loos. The council keeps digging up the town centre to improve it, and it keeps not looking improved.
Every bank in town has had a go at leaving. Barclays, Halifax, HSBC and Lloyds have each announced a closure, which per head is 10.5 times the typical town's rate, and Leominster got a banking hub instead. On a Wednesday the last bus is at 7.01pm. It's the crappest town in Herefordshire, against stiff competition from Hereford.
