Letters from the locals

Llantwit Major. Bit too pleased.

Fossils on the beach, a medieval old town and a bathing water rated Excellent. Insufferable.

Llantwit Major has fossils on the beach, big cliffs and a medieval old town, and almost nothing goes wrong. No crime to speak of, no fly-tipping, safe roads, and the beach came out Excellent for bathing. So the locals moan about the banks closing, the bins overflowing and the signs to the beach.

They moan about the buses too, which run later than the typical town's and more often after dark. There's a Greggs at six times the typical town's per head. Outsiders call it Llantwat Major. That's as rough as it gets.
