There were 19.5 deliberate fires per 10,000 people a year in Gourock from April 2023 to March 2026, 13% lower than the typical Scottish town's 22.3. The most common were grass, woods and crops set on fire, at 14.7. In 2025/26 it was 17.4, down from 24.9 in 2023/24.
