There were 3.5 deliberate fires per 10,000 people a year in Thurso from April 2023 to March 2026, 84% lower than the typical Scottish town's 22.3. The most common were bins and rubbish set on fire, at 1.8. In 2025/26 it was 1.4, down from 4.6 in 2023/24.
